An English version between photo 1 and 2
“I always think everything is going to last forever, but nothing ever does. In fact nothing exists longer than an instant, except the things that we hold in memory”
Sam Savage, Firmin
When I read the theme for the photography assignment (I chose "Aging") of February on Yvonne’s blog, I wondered how I should tackle this. The theme is so many-sided and of course that is the intention. With "Aging" comes the word "Impermanence". Both words have a different meaning in my opinion. "Aging" is something that you can see, "impermanence" is for me more a feeling. There is some melancholy in that word. It is something that has passed forever, something elusive. The picture I had in mind should include both meanings and tell the story itself. Finally I ended up with two pictures.
When I asked my father (91 years and a fan of my photoblog) if he was willing to help me with this assignment, he loved the idea immediately. Often my father told me that his life had passed as a breath. And that is precisely what gave me the idea to take these pictures.

Thanks to all my friends abroad for their spontaneous, nice comments and praising words on my last blog. I hope we keep in touch. Of course I will visit you on your own blog, although it may take sometimes a little longer.
Groetjes/Greetings, Joke
